Indian Army Recruitment 2019 – Apply Online for 54th SSC (Men) & 25th SSC (Women)

Indian Army has published notification of 54th SSC (Tech-Men) and 25th SSC (Tech-Women) for the unmarried Male & Female Engineering Graduates and also for Widows of Defence Personnel for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army in all Arms/ Services. Course will commence in Apr 2020  at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Those Candidates who are interested in the vacancy details & completed all eligibility criteria can read the notification & apply Online.

  • Staring Date to Apply Online: 24-07-2019 at 12:00 Hrs
  • Last Date to Apply Online: 22-08-2019 at 12:00 Hr

Age Limit 

  • For SSC (T)-54 Men & SSCW (T) 25 Women: 20 to 27 Years as on 01-04-2020. (Candidates should born b/w 02-04-1993 & 01-04-2000, both dates inclusive)
  • For wodows of Defence Personnel who died Harness Only:
  • SSCW (Non Technical-NOn UPSC) & SSCW (Tech): A maximum of 35 Years as on 01-04-2020

Qualification

  • SSCW (Non Tech) (Non UPSC): Graduation in any Discipline
  • SSCW (Tech): BE/ B.Tech in Any Engineering Stream.
  • For SSC (Tech) (Men & Women):
  • Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final yeat of Engineering Degree course
  • For Widows of Defence Personnel who Died in Harnes

Eligibility

(a) Nationality. A candidate must either be :- (i) a citizen of India, or 

(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or 

(iii) a subject of Nepal, or 

(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or 

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries

of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories 

(ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a

certificate of eligibility has been issued by Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

(b) Age Limit

(i) For SSC(Tech)- 54 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 25 Women. 20 to 27 years as on 01 Apr 2020 (Candidates born between 02 Apr 93 and 01 Apr 2000, both days inclusive).

 

(ii) For widows of Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only.SSCW (Non Tech) [Non UPSC] and SSCW(Tech) – A maximum of 35 years of ageas on 01 Apr 2020.

(c) Educational Qualification for SSC(Tech)(Men and Women). Candidates  who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply. Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering degree course should be able to submit proof of passing by 01 Apr 2020 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA) as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid.

 

(a)          Educational Qualification for Widows of Defence Personnel who Died in Harness

 

(i)            SSCW (Non Tech) (Non UPSC). Graduation in any Discipline.

 

(ii)           SSCW(Tech).  BE/B Tech in any Engineering stream.

Vacancies. Candidates must note that only the Engineering streams and their acceptable equivalent streams, strictly as notified in the table below, will be accepted. Candidates with degrees in any other engineering stream(s) are not eligible to apply. Variation between the nomenclature of Engineering stream as given on the degree parchment / marksheet and that submitted by the candidate in his online application will result in cancellation of candidature.

 

How to Apply

(a) Applications will only be accepted online on website “www.joinindianarmy.nic.in”. Click on ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’. Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully. After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard. A page ‘Officers Selection – ‘Eligibility’ will open. Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Short Service Commission Technical Course. A page ‘Application Form’ will open. Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill details as required under various segments. Personal information, Communication details, Education details and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment. After filling details on the last segment, you will move to a page ‘Summary’ of your information wherein you can check and edit the entries already made. Then click on ‘Submit Now’ only after carefully ascertaining that the correct details have been filled in. Candidates must click ‘Submit Now’ each time they open the application for editing. The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after final closure of online application on last day.

Important Instructions to Fill Online Application Form
 
Read all the instruction for registration carefully and then proceed further.
Check your Job Eligibility for joining Indian Army as an officer and then Register. For Eligibility Criteria (Click Here).
If you are a new user, Click on registration Tab. Registration table window will open and fill up all the fields in the registration form.
Fill in all your personal details strictly as given in your matriculation Certificates. (I.e. Your Name, DOB, Father Name & Educational Qualification.)
Candidate must ensure that Email Id and mobile No entered at the time of registration process are active and unique. Sharing/Usage of Email Id /Mobile no of friends is strictly prohibited.
Ensure all the field are filled in correctly and then click on save tab.
Registration process is mandatory for all the candidates to apply online for various Entries.
By default your Email Id will also be your user name but candidate must select their own password (Not more than 10 Characters). All Candidates are advised to remember their user name and password.
If you are an existing User/Already Registered on your website you can login using your User name and Password.
Thereafter your profile page will open and you can view your Dashboard on the screen.
Click on Continue to go to Registration/Login Page.
 

Type of Commission


(a)Grant of Commission. Selected candidates will  be  granted  Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of Lt from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, whichever is later and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lt during training period.  Pay & allowances will be paid after successful completion of training.

(b)Confirmation of Short Service Commission. On successful completion of Pre Commission training at OTA, officer will be confirmed Short Service Commission (Technical) in the rank of Lt.

(c)Ante Date Seniority. One year ante date seniority from the date of commission will be granted to Engineering Graduates of Short Service Commission (Technical) in the rank of Lt.

(d)No Ante Date Seniority for widows of Defence Personnel for SSC(NT). Widows of Defence Personnel selected for SSCW (NT) entry will be granted Short Service Commission in the rank of Lieutenant but will NOT be entitled to any ante date seniority.

(h)Cost of Training. The entire cost of training at OTA is at Government expense. In case the Lady/Gentleman Cadet is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other than medical ground or the reasons not beyond his/her control, he/she will be liable to refund cost of training @ Rs. 11,067/- per week till Sep 2019, thereafter a yearly escalation of 8% p.a. will be calculated on the Per Capita Cost of Training for each ensuing year (or as notified from time to time) for the period of his/her stay at OTA, Chennai.
